Cambrian Park Little League: Residency

Your child's registration is not considered complete until residency documentation is provided.  Residency is based on living within CPLL's boundaries OR attending a school within the boundaries.

If you live within the boundaries, you must present 3 documents, one from each of the categories below.

If you live outside of the boundaries but your child attends a school within, you must have a school attendance form signed by the principal of the school (more info below).

Residence Eligibility Requirements

Little League Baseball Inc. requires local leagues to verify residency of the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) for every registered player participating in the spring and fall season (and again for the all star tournament season).  The official residence is based on the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) bona fide home address. See the Document Verification page for Little League International for detailed information.

SPRING,  If parents' of the child live at different addresses, one parent must be within the Cambrian Park boundaries.

FALL,  For players who did not play as a registered player with CPLL in spring, regulations allow you to play in our Fall program ONLY if your hometown league does not offer a fall baseball season.  District Administrators and local Presidents must also approve this option.

Residence shall be established and supported by documents dated between February 1, 2023 – February 1, 2024.

"School attendance" refers to the (place) physical location the player in question attends school during the traditional academic year.  Once established, a location of school attendance shall not be considered changed unless the child is enrolled and attends another school or is no longer enrolled in the previous school.

Official Little League Eligibility Requirements

Cambrian Park Little League: All About Birth Certificates

Little League Baseball Inc. requires a parent or court appointed legal guardian to present a ‘Certified Birth Certificate’ to verify the player’s birth date and legal name.  The original birth certificate referenced must have been filed, recorded, registered or issued within one (1) year of the birth of the player and include the county/state seal impressed thereon.

For players born abroad of military parents, Department of Defense identification cards and military hospital certificates are acceptable.  These must be originals, not copies, and must refer to a filing within one (1) year of the birth of the player.

Once uploaded, a league official will ‘verify’ the players ‘Certified Birth Certificate’ and CPLL will update our digital records.

The player’s birth certificate will be on file for their entire Little League career with CPLL.  NOTE:  In the event the player is selected for All-Star Tournaments, you will need to provide the original ‘Certified Birth Certificate’ for the Post Season Verification Process.  Keep your Certified Birth Certificate in an accessible, safe place.

NOT ACCEPTABLE PROOF OF BIRTH:

Baptismal Certificate; Certificate of Blessing; Certificate of Dedication; Certificate of Circumcision; Hospital Certificate; Abstract Birth Certificates; Photocopied Records; and Passports. If you need to obtain a ‘Certified Birth Certificate’, contact the Registrar of Vital Statistics in the state your child was born.

Questions Related to Residency

Q: What if I have moved out of the CPLL bounderies?

If you have moved out of the Cambrian Park boundary you have a choice of registering and playing (1) with the league in your new area OR (2) with Cambrian Park under an option known as waiver regulation II(d).

Waiver regulation II(d) allows you to continue playing in your old home league provided you do not break service (skip a year) in the future..  In other words you must continue to play each Spring with Cambrian Park otherwise if you skip a year, then you only become eligible to play in the league where your new home address resides.

If you have moved out of our CPLL boundary zone since last season and no longer attend a school within the CPLL boundary zone, please contact the CPLL Player Agent for special waiver requirements that will allow you to continue to play in our league.

Q: What paperwork is required to continue playing with Cambrian Park?
A: Shortly after your move you will be required to present to the player agent three (3) proofs of residency documents from your old address PLUS three (3) proof of residency documents from your new address.  The player agent will complete the Little League Baseball official II(d) form and submit to the league president and district administrator for signatures.  It is then filed with Little league Baseball Inc. for the remainder of your career with Cambrian Park.
